Meet

Jamie

My story

Hey there! As you probably know by now, my name is Jamie Bourgeois. I was born & raised right outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I couldn't imagine ever leaving! There's just something about that Purple & Gold that has me glued here! I've spent the last several years building a life that I love. I have been lucky enough to snag one of the sweetest men to be found in south Louisiana. Together, we have two dogs (who will definitely take you down with all the kisses), a cute little house, and the best group of friends we could ever ask for! Being able to take my passion and turn it into a career, has only been the cherry on top!

About 7 years ago, I was in college at Southeastern Louisiana University and majoring in Kinesiology. What I was thinking, I will NEVER know because I get queasy at just the thought of blood. During one of my lectures, the teacher was showing an hour long video of miscellaneous sports injuries. About 20 minutes into the video, I packed my stuff, ran out the room (and lost my lunch), and never looked back. I very quickly realized that any type of sports med career was not the right path for me. From there, I jumped around from major to major, but nothing ever really felt right.

As I tried figuring out what to do, I started working at a bank part time to keep me occupied. I think part of me was hoping things would just work out and I would climb the ranks at the bank and make a career out of it. I liked it well enough. I could do this forever, right? Well one day, one of my good friends invited me and our other friend Taylor (she's right next to me!) to tag along with him to photograph one of his weddings. He needed a lighting assistant (me!) and a second shooter to help him for an evening. Just for fun, he let me pose with one of his cameras, and I decided to play around with it while he ate dinner for the night, and I instantly fell in love.

I soon started accompanying my friend to weddings pretty regularly. Helping with lighting, posing, second shooting and everything in between! I bought my first camera & lens, and starting shooting anything I could find! Fast forward to today, I've built a wedding photography business based solely on loving and serving couples in my area, and showing them that a photographer shouldn't be just another vendor. I will spend more time with you than any of your other vendors, and I strive to create an unforgettable experience from day one! I've been fortunate enough to meet some pretty amazing people, and some of them have even become some of my very best friends, like my girl, Shelby & her husband, Josh!

Wedding photography has turned out to be the dream come true that I never even knew I was dreaming of! Getting to know and photographing my clients has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. This business has brought so much joy into my heart and I would absolutely love the opportunity to share all that joy with you! I want to be able to serve and love you the way you deserved to be throughout your entire wedding process, and give you the same great experience as so many of my brides before you! If you're interested to hear it straight from them, click here to see what they had to say! I can't wait to hear from you and get to know all your wedding dreams!

                  XOXO -
